Learning high frequency sight words plays an important part in your child's ability to read fluently. Some words cannot be decoded easily, and your child should know them by sight; we call these sight words.
We have made this process fun, buy organizing these words according to phonemic awareness skills taught in Grades K-2. Our goal is for your child to master all of the "sight words" on the rainbow list before the end of the school year in order to be better prepared for fluent reading in Second Grade.
Words are organized by color. The Red list is words that should be mastered by the end of Kindergarten. Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Gold words are taught throughout Kindergarten and Grade 1, and are mastered by Grade 2.
Please use the slide show below to help your child master their !!
