• Mrs. Clayborne's Discipline Policies

As your child begins his/her final year of elementary school, I would like to share my expectations with you. First, I expect your child to be prepared for school. Secondly, I expect work to be completed on time and to the best of your child’s ability.  Our school has developed rules that we feel will help create a harmonious classroom environment where everyone can learn.

    1. Be respectful
    2. Be responsible
    3. Be safe

When students choose to follow the rules and help make the classroom a pleasant and productive place to learn they may earn a reward such as certificates, prizes, or special privileges. They may be selected to receive a Wiley Super Citizen award or a classroom award.

    1. The student will receive a verbal warning.
    2. The student will sit in the “chill zone” (or time out).
    3. The student will sit in chill zone in another classroom and parent/guardian will be notified.
    4. The student will get an infraction and go to the principal.

A student who repeatedly interrupts the opportunity for others to learn by disobeying the class rules may be placed on an individualized discipline plan, for which a parent-teacher conference is required.
