I am very excited to be working with your child this school year! I want to give you some information regarding our classroom discipline. Each day your child makes many choices, with some being good and some being not so good. Good choices could be following directions, being responsible, respectful , etc. Poor choices would be the opposite of what was previously listed. I want only the best for your child and I want to see your child succeed. This is why if your child makes a poor choice I allow them to fix it. However, if it is a repeated poor choice other disciplinary action might be taken. For example, removed from seating group, silent lunch or loss of recess. In our classroom we have a “Choice Chart.” Each child is designated a pocket on the chart. The pocket contains four colored cards: yellow, green, blue and red. Yellow means “had a great day!” Green means “Warning.” Blue is lose 15 minutes of recess. Lastly, red is lose all of recess. Please discuss the importance of making good choices with your child. By doing so, it will show them the importance of practicing these choices each day.
