What IS PBIS?

  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a way to promote behavior expectations by teaching desired behaviors in order to prevent bad behaviors instead of always focusing on the negative aspect of punishing undesired behaviors.

At Case Middle School, we teach the students our 3 Rs:

Be READY, Be RESPONSIBLE, and Be RESPECTFUL.

Each area of the school has ways that students can demonstrate these positive behaviors, and they are taught and reinforced throughout the year.  This approach to managing behaviors is also a positive one.  Students are acknowledged for exhibiting the behaviors that we expect by receiving "Ca$e Ca$h."

Ca$e Ca$h can be used throughout the year to buy special privileges as a reward for a student's positive behavior.   There are also opportunities for students to spend their Ca$e Ca$h in classrooms and particpate in raffles.
