Curriculum & Instruction - Stacey Eger

Dear Watertown Team and Community,

First, thank you to parents and guardians for entrusting your child(ren) to our care and guidance as they pursue their potential. Together, with an amazing team of staff members, we will foster a learning environment that supports not only academic growth, but also social and emotional growth. We hope to create problem solvers who take initiative to be productive citizens who are community-minded and curious about the world around them.

I have had the pleasure of working with many staff members here previously as a professional developer with Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and community members to achieve the vision we all have for our students and children. Having grown up in the North Country, I consider it an honor to continue my career within the “city” in which I spent much of my time as a child. A Beaver River graduate, I spent some time in New York City pursuing my higher education, and time and family found me winding my way back here to teach and, eventually, become an administrator. While I live in Cicero, where my own three children are happily settled and where we have extended family close by, my heart remains committed to the North Country.

I strongly agree with our superintendent’s “student first” motto and ground that philosophy into all of my leadership work. With student-centered instruction, relevance and engagement in curriculum design, and application-based assessments, our students will have opportunities to collaborate, communicate, and think creatively and critically, while increasing their awareness of community-based issues – both locally and state/nation/world-wide.

Resources and updates will posted periodically on the Curriculum & Instruction pages, but please feel free to contact the office if you have questions or concerns. We welcome your voices.

As the 2017-2018 school year opens, I look forward to becoming an active part of the Watertown TEAM AWESOME and supporting each student and his/her learning. Thank you for this opportunity to serve your district and community!
