Welcome to the 2020-21 School year! There will be a different "look" to our lesson and rehearsal schedule due to the Covid restrictions that have been put in place. Our in school, Hybrid focus will be on individuals and small groups as we will only be able to have lesson students from one classroom at a time. We will be spaced at 12 foot distancing and will only remove masks to play our instruments while seated. The bulk of playing and getting better will have to be done at home. Remote learners will be presented with "how to" videos and videos to play along with at home. ALL Students will be expected to join my Google Classroom. Remote learners will be expected to send video clips of themselves demonstrating different aspects of performing and participate in weekly zoom sectionals on Wednesdays.
I will be coming in to classrooms with Mrs Faunce to speak about returning students and signing up. Students that are remote only will be guided to an informational video on Youtube with all you should need to know about band. Students in school will bring home program and sign up information. Remote only learners will receive links to this information and an online form to sign up.
Beginning Band lessons will consist of the following instruments ONLY this year: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet and Trombone. The reason for this is lessons will be mixed instrumentation and limiting the choices will give us the chance to give the best instruction possible.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me. I will be checking my school email a few times each day!
Please share this with all your Wiley Band-Mates so this gets around to everyone.
Take care and I look forward to getting back together soon!
